ATU's Education
Curriculum underscores our commitment to affordable
flight training.
Our
commitment to our students is a direct result of
ATU's belief that a comprehensive flight education
is every student's inherent right.
As an
Aviation Student and Pilot it is important that you
understand your rights, responsibilities and the
rewards. Aviation Professionals are not born, they
are created.
As a Student and a Pilot, you have the Right:
- To
expect the highest QUALITY in your educational
and the flight training environment (towards
becoming a well educated and trained pilot).
- To be
treated with respect as the “Pilot in Command”
(from day 1 of your training).
- To plan
your education and follow a curriculum that you
have chosen.
- To
interview, question and choose your instructor(s)…and
to change your instructors.
- To
expect your chosen flight instructor to work in
concert with you and your plan.
- To be
trained in a professional environment and to fly
in a safe aircraft.
- To
understand the process, steps, and requirements
associated with your aviation goals.
- To
expect a cohesive educational and training
regimen (which involves coordinated educational
and flight training from your Educational
Institution and your Chosen Flight Instructor).
- To say
“No!”
- To
determine for yourself the best VALUE for your
educational expense.
- To
expect and contribute to elevated standards in
the aviation industry.
- To
become an Aviation Professional.
You have the responsibility:
- To
accept your role as Pilot in Command from Day 1
of your training…and to treat other Command
professionals with the courtesy & respect that
they deserve.
- To be
proactive in your educational and flight
training curriculum (constantly planning ahead
and revisiting what you’ve learned).
- To
dedicate the necessary time required to acquire
information (and learn the skills to apply that
information) as well as the time required to
improve and refine your skills.
- To self
evaluate your understanding of the information
and the application of what you have learned.
- To ask
questions and say “No!” until you have full
understanding of the information.
- To
develop a plan for your educational and flight
training goals, with reasonable demands on your
schedule…and follow it.
- To be
early to your educational and training sessions
(if your not 15 minutes early – YOUR LATE!).
- To
understand the difference between Being a Pilot
and a Professional Aviator (and to make the
decision to be a Professional Aviator).
- To
evaluate and know your limitations and say “NO!”
until you are comfortable.
- To treat
others in the Aviation community with respect
and courtesy.
- To be an
ambassador for the Aviation profession within
the community and to share your knowledge,
experience, and the gift of flight with others.
- To
SAFELY operate all operations, missions,
training and flights which you undertake…and to
approach it with the proper resources (training
materials, headset, calculator, compass, etc…).
